Re: Collation of 1723 Fertel manual

Our copy of Fertel 1723 has same cancels as mentioned by Ripley-Duggan,
and the following folding illustrations:

Between pp. 12 and 13:
One engraving with title: "Demonstration de la Casse Grecque ... Pag. 13"
showing 3 upper and 3 lower cases of Greek type
One engraving "Demonstration de la Casse Superieure de longues et de
breves" and "Demonstration de la Casse Superieure des Caracteres
Vulgaires" with "pag. 13" or possibly "pag. 15" engraved in upper right.
This page reference has been scratched out and "Pag. 13" written in
pencil above it. Plate shows 2 upper and 2 lower cases, so arranged that
it would have been possible for them to be cut into two apparently
     independent plates and so bound.
Facing page 14:
Printed: "Demonstration de la Casse Grecque ... pag. 14"
Facing p. 136:
Printed: "Genealogia Comitum Artesiae. page 136"
Facing p. "230" <=231>:
Engraved: "Explication des noms de chaque piece ... Pag. 230"
Facing P. 248:
Engraved: <another picture of a press, showing the parts, especially
a bottom view of the stone> "Pag. 248"

This agrees with descriptions of "4 plates and 2 tables" and "6". Presumably
one could come up with "7" if the plate mentioned above were dissected and
bound as two. What the Newberry has which can produce the count of "8", I
hope someone will tell us.
