I'm sure stories about collectors who intended to give a collection to a
library but didn't abound. One concerns the late Robert Honeyman who, it
was said, intended to give his entire history of science collection to
Lehigh University. After giving part of it to Lehigh something changed
his mind. The rest was sold at auction I believe. I heard that both
Harrison Horblit and Arthur Houghton ended up selling at auction many
books that they had originally earmarked for Harvard. Phil Weimerskirch,
