Maxwell vs. Shields

Before tempers flare in this heat--

Rob Shields is the LC person who is pushing for gay and lesbian rights.

Robert Maxwell is the person who objects to hearing about it.

Confusing the two is likely to cause more fussing. While I am 100% in
support of Mr. Shields' efforts, I can understand why some EXLIBRIS
subscribers might object to the lengthy messages on the subject. Such
messages do not bother me and I don't sympathize with anyone who objects
to the subject matter, but they are indeed more than a little off topic
here. For those who are genuinely interested in such issues as they
relate to librarianship and library collections, there is another list:
GAY-LIBN@USCVM or gay-libn@vm.usc.edu

If that isn't enough to direct the flames my way, this will probably do
it: Peter's reference to slugs and bananas makes me wonder whether one
could stuff the emu with banana slugs before roasting it?
