I received two other private mailings regarding the novel in
woodcuts that I thought I'd share with the list.
I was not aware of Lebek's work before--it appears that he
may have done several pictorial narratives in extremely limited
editions (50 copies or so). At least, that's what a bibliography
tells me. I'm just now starting to track down some of his work.
The article in _Print_ is very well illustrated and includes a
woodcut by Masereel, but no discussion. Instead it concentrates on
the modern graphic novel.
Thanks to all who have responded so far--keep 'em coming.
