Dante Exhibit

Just a follow-up on my little promotional on our upcoming
exhibit, "Renaissance Dante at Notre Dame (1472-1629)," Oct. 4
-Dec. 15, 1993, and corresponding conference, "Dante Now:
Current Trends in Dante Studies," Oct. 29-30, 1993:
A couple of individuals have inquired as to whether our
exhibit will have a catalog. The answer is yes, a detailed
catalog is being prepared with a bibliographic description of
each early printed edition of the Divine Comedy owned by
Notre Dame. That includes eight of the sixteen incunables
and all but six editions published in the 16th and 17th
centuries. Mention will be made of the 14 books our collection
lacks. The catalog is being co-published by the University Press
of Notre Dame and the Medieval Institute of Notre Dame and it is
projected for completion in 1994.
Inquiries regarding the conference may be sent to Professor
Theodore Cachey, Department of Romance Languages and Literatures,
University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame IN 46556 ((219)631-5651),
EMail ATTJC@IRISHMVS .
